Local Airports Partner with Challenge Air to Provide Flights for Special Needs Kids!

Augusta Regional Airport (AGS) along with Augusta Aviation, Daniel Field (DNL), have partnered with Challenge Air for Kids & Friends, Inc. to host a Fly Day at AGS.

Challenge Air is a non-profit organization established in 1993 by Rick Amber, a quadriplegic navy veteran, as an effort to encourage children that they can overcome their disabilities. The organization is made of a network of over 3,500 volunteers dedicated to providing children with special needs the opportunity to take a flight with a private pilot and build their self-esteem.

On May 4, 2019 AGS will host a Challenge Air Fly Day for 50 children with special needs, ages 7-21, at no cost to the participants. The event will provide each child with an opportunity to ?co-pilot? during a flight in a private aircraft, lunch, and activities during the event.
