AGS Host's Sixth STEM Aviation Career Day

Augusta Regional Airport (AGS) is proud to host 40 students from the Richmond County School System?s Aviation Pathway for the Airport?s sixth Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) Aviation Career Day!
On November 22nd, students from Cross Creek High School?s Fundamentals of Aviation and Flight Operations One classes will visit AGS to participate in the Airport?s STEM Aviation Career Day. These select students are given the opportunity to learn about the aviation industry and how STEM is essential to the career path.

Each student will be able to interact with staff and tour the facilities of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Control Tower, the Standard Aero maintenance hangar, the Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF) station, and MVP Aviation?s flight instructor with his Cessna 172 aircraft.

"We are, again, very proud and privileged to host the STEM Aviation Career Day. From its inception, Aviation has, and continues to, be one of the leading industries in innovation, technological advancements, and overall societal contribution," said Herbert Judon Jr., Airport?s Executive Director. "We are humbled to do our small part to introduce the next generation of young leaders to these amazing professions."

All media wishing to cover this event should contact Lauren Smith by Thursday, November 21st by 4:30 p.m. This is an invitation only event.
